Health Care Aide (HCA) – Full-Time Evening Shift

Location: Taber, Alberta

Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour

Position Type: Full-Time Contract

Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Primarily Evening Shifts)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Duration: Until November 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension

Job Summary

HealthOPM is seeking one Full-Time Health Care Aide (HCA) to work at a healthcare facility in Taber, Alberta. The successful candidate will primarily work evening shifts, with occasional day or night shifts as required. This is an immediate-start contract opportunity with the possibility of extension.

Travel and accommodation support of up to $2,000 is approved to assist eligible candidates with mileage reimbursement or accommodation expenses.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, mobility, and toileting.
• Support residents with meals and hydration as required.
• Observe and report changes in residents' conditions to the appropriate healthcare team members.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established care plans.
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures, workplace safety standards, and facility policies.
• Promote residents' dignity, independence, comfort, and safety.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Valid Health Care Aide (HCA) certification or recognized equivalent.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused approach to care.
• Flexibility to work occasional day and night shifts.
• Availability to start immediately.
• Ability to meet the facility's onboarding, credentialing, and screening requirements.

Shift Schedule

• Primary shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Occasional 8-hour or 12-hour day shifts.
• Occasional 8-hour or 12-hour night shifts.

Compensation and Contract Details

• Hourly pay: $21.00
• Mileage reimbursement or accommodation support of up to $2,000 approved, subject to applicable eligibility and reimbursement terms.
• Full-time contract until November 30, 2026.
• Possibility of contract extension based on facility requirements.
