Job Description

Hours of Work : Sats. 7a-7p (24 hrs. biweekly) HCA (CR45)

The Job Responsibilities are as follows:

  • Following client care plan and delivering high quality client care.
  • Preparing meals and snacks for clients according to the meal plan.
  • Using Catalyst system while providing assistance with medications to clients on time according to Excel Policies and procedures and checking/receiving medication that arrive while on shift.
  • Performing general household duties and maintenance such cleaning, vacuuming, and laundry; and also outside maintenance such as shovelling snow, cutting grass, and gardening.
  • Maintaining/updating all required documentation such as scorecards, medical records, etc.
  • Assisting clients with hygiene and personal care.
  • Providing emotional support to clients and using de-escalation techniques to support clients.
  • Supporting and assisting clients in maintaining appointments, activities, or programs.
  • Monitoring client wellbeing, physical and mental condition closely and reporting concerns to supervisor. Accompanying clients to appointments as necessary.
  • Liaising with families, guardians, professionals and other resource members of the client(s)’ support network, communicating relevant client information to other team members.

Requirements:

  • HCA certificate from an institution recognized by Alberta health Services as evidenced through enrolment in the HCA Directory.
  • Maintain certification in First Aid and CPR Level C.
  • Satisfactory current criminal record check.
