Job Description

Overview

Under the supervision of the Program Director of Health & Wellness this position is responsible for assisting in supervision and coordination as well the vison and standard practices for all branches in the areas of Personal Training, Group Exercise and Personal Fitness.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with staff training.
  • Assist with expenses and income for Fitness Programs under the direction of the Program Director.
  • Assist with supervision of the Fitness Staff; review and submit staff timesheets.
  • Assist Program Director with development and implementation of Fitness activities and schedules.
  • Procure and maintain all necessary equipment and supplies for Fitness programs.
  • Organize and manage all record keeping and the evaluation of staff.
  • Maintain positive relationships with children, parents, members and other staff members.
  • Lead and participate in teaching classes; respond to member’s concerns.
  • Assure that the Fitness Safety and Risk Management programs are in place.
  • Attend all staff meetings and trainings as required by the Fitness Director.
  • Assist with Recruitment, select, orient, train, supervise, recognize, and empower all volunteers necessary to conduct programs.
  • Participate and assist in all Special Events for the YMCA (i.e. Auction).
  • Assist with the development and creation of marketing tools.
  • Participate in Association and regional YMCA activities as assigned or requested with supervisor’s approval.
  • Positive attitude with total staff team.
  • All other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age with a high school diploma.
  • Bachelor's degree in education, recreation, or equivalent preferred
  • Equivalent of two years’ education beyond high school.
  • Must have three years’ prior experience in Fitness, teaching children and adults.
  • Two years’ prior experience in supervision.
  • Requires certification in First Aid, CPR, ACSM, or YMCA Fitness Specialist.
  • A commitment to working with children and adults from a variety of backgrounds.

Posted Salary Range

USD $24.00 - USD $28.00 /Hr.
