Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, H&S Program Assurance, this role is responsible for supporting the development and standardization of safe task procedures across multiple sites. The successful candidate will focus on supporting the development of safe task procedures tailored for each task.
Key Accountabilities:
• Partner with plant Operations and H&S teams to provide support and guidance on the Task Identification and Task Hazard Analysis processes;
• Conduct site visits to understand and validate processes and ensure alignment with the developed procedures;
• Support the development and standardization of Safe Task Procedures and Step Up Cards ensuring procedures are practical, adoptable, and aligned with operational standards;
• Support program compliance and tracking.
Requirements:
• University degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field would be an asset;
• 2–3 years of experience in H&S procedural development;
• Professional designation such as CRST (or in progress) preferred;
• Demonstrated experience working with H&S regulations in Ontario;
• Experience developing H&S procedures;
• Working knowledge of Provincial OHS Act, Regulations and CSA Standards;
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical, implementable workplace procedures;
• Strong communication and facilitation skills, ability to engage, support and influence site teams and stakeholders;
• Advanced technical writing skills with a focus on clarity and usability;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and other computer-based systems;
• Willingness to travel 50% within the GTA with a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle;
• Comfortable working in plant environments and engaging with frontline teams.
Hiring Range: CAD $64,393 - $92,082
Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus up to 8% of base salary subject to the plan terms and conditions.
Please note that the expected hiring range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sofina. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, skillset of the candidate and internal equity.
