About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance

The ASM is an alliance between Fulton Hogan, HEB Construction and NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi to operate and maintain Auckland's motorway network. The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system.


The Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead the strategic direction of health, safety and wellbeing across the Alliance. Working closely with operational leaders, frontline teams, home organisations and supply chain partners, you'll strengthen our safety culture, support effective risk management, and ensure health and safety is embedded in the way we plan and deliver work.

Leading a team of health and safety professionals, you'll provide practical guidance, assurance and leadership that supports safe outcomes across a complex operational environment, ensuring our people go home healthy, safe and well each day.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will bring strong technical health and safety expertise, practical operational understanding, and the leadership capability to influenced safety outcomes across a complex Alliance environment. Health and Safety Manager

  • Tertiary qualification in Health & Safety (or equivalent experience) and 5+ years in a senior H&S role within a high-risk environment.
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand H&S legislation, risk management, and safe work practices.
  • Proven ability to influence, coach, and support H&S practitioners, leaders, and frontline teams.
  • Strong communication, reporting, facilitation, presentation, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience with safety management systems, audits, investigations, assurance, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
