This is a key leadership role where you will work closely with senior stakeholders and operational teams to ensure the safe handling of healthcare waste, including sharps, while maintaining full regulatory compliance.

You will take ownership of the H&S strategy, driving continuous improvement, reducing incidents, and supporting teams to deliver safe and efficient services across multiple sites.

What you will do

  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring robust root cause analysis and effective corrective actions
  • Facilitate H&S committees and coordinate improvement plans with regional leaders and site teams
  • Develop and deliver training programmes, including inductions and refresher training, ensuring accurate compliance records
  • Act as the key contact for regulators, insurers, and legal bodies, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation

Candidate Profile

  • CMIOSH (or working towards)
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
  • Proven H&S leadership experience in high-risk sectors such as healthcare, waste, logistics, or industrial environments
  • Strong understanding of hazardous or clinical waste risks
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive behavioural change
  • Strong incident investigation and root cause analysis skills
  • Confident communicator with experience delivering training
  • Commercial awareness, including managing H&S-related costs
  • Driving license and willingness to travel

This is an opportunity to step into a role where you can genuinely shape safety culture at scale. You will work with a committed leadership team and play a key part in delivering safe, sustainable services to healthcare customers across the UK.

If you are looking for a role where you can make a visible impact and lead from the front, this could be the right move.
