At Hatch, our commitment to Achieving No Harm is at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Health and Safety Coordinator to join our Australia-Asia (AUA) Health and Safety team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build a long-term career in health and safety within a global engineering and professional services organisation. Reporting to the Regional Manager, Health and Safety AUA, you will gain hands-on experience supporting regional health and safety systems, processes, reporting and governance activities. This role is designed as a development pathway, providing exposure to a broad range of health and safety functions while building the foundational skills required to support project teams. As your knowledge and experience grow, there will be opportunities to transition into more project-focused health and safety responsibilities. This position can be based in either Perth or Brisbane.
As part of the Regional Health and Safety team, you will receive mentoring and support while contributing to a range of health and safety initiatives. You will learn how safety systems, reporting processes and compliance frameworks operate within a complex project environment, while developing the skills and experience needed for future career progression within the health and safety profession.
You are a recent graduate or early-career professional with a genuine interest in developing a career in health and safety. You may hold a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Health Sciences, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business or a related discipline and are eager to learn how health and safety systems, governance processes and reporting frameworks support the successful delivery of projects. You are highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You enjoy working with systems, data and processes, have strong Microsoft Office skills and are keen to further develop your capabilities in SharePoint, Power BI and other business reporting tools. Most importantly, you are eager to learn, adaptable and committed to continuous improvement. Previous exposure to health and safety principles, auditing, reporting, governance activities or project environments will be beneficial, but is not essential. We are looking for someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn, who is excited by the opportunity to develop their career and progressively transition into project health and safety support roles over time.
