Job Description

Job Title: Health & Safety Coordinator

The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator (EHS) supports the EHS Manager with implementation of all health and safety programs at our Drilling companies. The Position is responsible for maximizing all employees’ safety at work and the use of proper safeguards, support tendering activities, and supervise all HSE requirements during projects execution.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Practice and enforce safe work techniques, safety policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Coordinate, schedule, and implement HSE training and certifications.
• Assist in EHS education program development.
• Provide quality assurance checks and guidance for field crews.
• Coordinate with project managers and clients to prepare EHS documents.
• Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
• Maintain inventory of safety supplies and equipment.
• Assist with review of incidents and corrective actions.
• Perform safety inspections in coordination with HSE manager.
• Assist with regulatory compliance.
• Regular local travel required; some out of town travel required.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Knowledge and experience with drilling, site investigation, and remediation techniques
• Knowledge and experience preparing and implementing site specific health and safety plans.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
• Desire and interest in supporting field staff and promoting a culture where health and safety is a priority.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite of applications (word, excel, etc.)
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
Education and Experience:
• Associate degree or relevant experience
• 2+ years’ experience in the environmental and/or geotechnical industries preferred.
• OSHA certification preferred.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, use hands to finger, handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; bending or crouching; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• This position may require moving of up to 30 lbs.
• This position will be mostly stationary requiring movement around the office, occasional visits to remote job sites, and frequent communication with others.
• The average working hours will be 8 hours per day for this position with occasional need to exceed.
• Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions and other elements prevalent at the time.
