Who we are
Assurity Consulting is an independent health, safety and environmental consultancy, based in Horsham for over 35 years. We are looking for a qualified health and safety practitioner with some experience to join our company, and work with our enviable customer base of world-renowned organisations.

Part of the Celnor Group
Celnor Group is a UK-based environmental services group operating across the Testing, Inspection, Certification and Compliance (TICC) landscape. With a growing portfolio of specialist businesses, Celnor provides essential services that protect people, property and the environment.

While each business retains its own identity, culture and technical specialism, all are supported by a central group function that invests in people, systems and long-term sustainable growth.

As a Health and Safety Consultant you will deliver health and safety services to our customers, maintain and develop relationships with them. The role will give you lots of flexibility with your working time as you will be in control of planning your working schedule.

Our Consultants want to learn, so there will be mentoring and training available to develop your skills, time to gain further qualifications, and that could lead into people management and/or large contract management to develop your career.

You will have a 'Sussex based' lifestyle with the freedom to travel throughout the UK and time to take part in charity and company events to support the local community and socialise with your colleagues too.

What you will do
  • Deliver tailored health and safety consultancy services to a diverse portfolio of high-profile clients across the UK.
  • Conduct site visits, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation.
  • Develop and implement practical health and safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, support, and service excellence.
  • Provide expert advice on regulatory requirements, including HSE standards and industry-specific obligations.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations following audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Manage your own schedule and workload, ensuring timely delivery of services while maintaining flexibility.
  • Participate in mentoring, training, and professional development activities to enhance your consultancy skills.
  • Support company initiatives including charity events, community engagement, and internal social activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to continuous improvement across the consultancy team.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, compliance and quality standards
Who you are
You are an experienced and motivated professional who brings a practical, solutions-focused mindset. You will ideally have:
  • A NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent UK Health and Safety qualification
  • Ability to understand client business operations and tailor health and safety solutions that align with their strategic goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Comfortable using digital tools for reporting, scheduling, and remote client engagement.
  • A good track record and experience of working within a health and safety role within the UK with resilience and flexibility
  • Undertaken self-directed learning
  • The ability to apply UK health and safety legislation and regulations in a pragmatic and practical way
  • Skilled at building trust, asking the right questions, and delivering pragmatic advice that adds value beyond compliance.
