Focus of the Role

The Health and Recovery Team Manager provides enterprise leadership across the full health and recovery lifecycle, including health triage, health management, mental health, rehabilitation, and specialist Positive Duty capability. The role integrates triage, early intervention, case management, recovery and Positive Duty activity to identify workforce health needs, support compliance with applicable legislative obligations, and deliver effective, sustainable outcomes across mental and physical health matters.

Delivery spans the full health journey, from initial health incident response and triage through to recovery, supporting both mental and physical health matters. Work is prioritised based on risk, demand and workforce need, with data-led insights used to target resources and specialist expertise to complex matters and high-need cohorts.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a team of health, rehabilitation, and recovery professionals to deliver strong employee health and return-to-work outcomes.
  • Oversee health triage, early intervention, rehabilitation, and recovery programs for both mental and physical health matters.
  • Drive sustainable return-to-work outcomes, reduce absenteeism, and support critical incident response and recovery.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, recovery, and regulatory requirements, including audit and assurance activities.
  • Manage external providers and key stakeholders to deliver high-quality, employee-focused health and recovery services.
  • Foster a high-performing, inclusive team culture while continuously improving service delivery and outcomes.

About You

  • Proven people leader with experience coaching and developing high-performing teams in health, wellbeing, rehabilitation, or workplace safety environments.
  • Strong expertise in mental health, health triage, early intervention, rehabilitation, and return-to-work practices.
  • Solid understanding of the SRC Act (1988), regulatory compliance, governance, and audit requirements.
  • Experienced in managing complex stakeholder relationships across HR, business leaders, healthcare providers, and regulators.
  • Skilled at leading change, simplifying processes, using data-driven insights, and delivering sustainable health and recovery outcomes.
  • Experience in self-insured environments, provider management, and enterprise wellbeing programs is highly regarded.
