Under general supervision, performs work at the full-performance level in nutrition support for the Health Department’s Nutrition Services WIC program that serves a six-
county region. This position carries out tasks in income eligibility determination, participant education and screening including obtaining social economic, health and
nutrition data. Obtains height, weight and health history. Completes hemoglobin testing as part of WIC assessment. Must have own transportation to clinic sites and may
require travel and occasional overnight travel. Must be available for evening clinics. Position is located in Greenbrier County with some travel to Pocahontas County.
Training: Must be able to pass a written test at the eighth grade level.
Applicant must be certified as a Home Health Aide or must successfully pass the written competency evaluation given by the local agency prior to employment. Certification requires completion of a minimum of 75 hours of training including a minimum 16 hours of practicum. Applicant must possess a current driver's license and availability of a car for continuous use shall be a prerequisite for employment.
Note: For positions designated as Breastfeeding Counselor, WIC, positive past or present breastfeeding experience required.
