This position provides strategic leadership and program oversight for West Virginia's state opioid response (SOR) project. Oversees community-based SOR treatment grants who perform related work under SOR. Responsible for developing collaborative efforts among partnering agencies, with and emphasis on the expansion of medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) and services to high priority populations, including but not limited to pregnant and parenting women and their children and families, IV drug users, and people with or at high risk for developing infectious diseases, as well as treatment provider professional development. Position duties include but are not limited to complying with federal grant requirements, enhancing the state's opioid use treatment infrastructure, and expanding access to evidence-based MOUD strategies and services for people with opioid use disorder. The position monitors external sub-grantee staff and provides technical assistance and training statewide to sub-grantees and community organizations to promote positive program outcomes. Extensive collaboration with stakeholders is required. The other duties in this field are assigned as needed.
Training: Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university.
Substitution: Additional experience as described below may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: Four years full-time, equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience in a technical or program area that is related to the area of employment.
Substitution: Post-graduate education in a field related to the technical or program area may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours for one year of experience.
Special Requirement for the Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing:
In addition to the above minimum requirements, one year of basic sign language classes.
Certification: For West Virginia Cancer Registry cancer surveillance, data quality, and registrar education positions, applicant must hold the Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) credential, OR have five (5) years of cancer registry work experience.
