Kingsfleet Primary School are seeking a Headteacher who is an inspirational leader with proven experience of driving the school who will lead by example and empower the whole school community to ‘Be the best they can be.’

The learning philosophy at Kingsfleet Primary School is centred on developing the whole child; academically, socially and emotionally, within a supportive and inclusive environment. The school’s ethos, captured in the motto “Be the best you can be,” promotes high expectations while prioritising the wellbeing and confidence of all children. Its aim is to help children become curious, respectful and successful learners who develop a love of learning and an enthusiasm for exploring the world around them.

Learning at Kingsfleet emphasises curiosity, communication and independence. The curriculum is designed to help pupils “know more, remember more and understand more,” while encouraging them to ask questions, think critically and reflect on ideas. There is also a strong focus on oracy and literacy so that pupils can express their thoughts clearly and engage confidently with different subjects and perspectives.

Overall, the school’s philosophy promotes a broad, engaging education that nurtures curiosity, builds knowledge and develops confident, responsible members of society.

In view of the retirement of our long standing, respected and inspiring Headteacher, the governing body, staff and children are seeking to appoint an exceptional leader to continue to develop and sustain the strategic direction of our happy, caring school.

You will:

  • be approachable, and able to build and maintain strong relationships with staff, pupils, parents and the local community
  • have a strong track record in SEND provision and a deep understanding of inclusive education
  • be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and uphold a robust system of monitoring and reporting.
  • promote an ethos in which children take ownership of responsibility for learning, positive behaviour, personal development, and compassion for others
  • ensure all pupils continue to receive the very best all-round education, creatively, academically, socially and culturally, that will equip them for a happy rewarding and fulfilling life
  • have the mindset to be flexible and think outside the box in a busy environment
  • above all, love working with children and lead with their best interests at heart
  • appreciate the benefits of working with an experienced and supportive team of staff and governors
  • enjoy close working relationships with local schools, sharing best practices to enhance learning and leadership
  • receive a full Headteacher induction from Suffolk County Council, and have access to a mentor
  • have an exciting and fulfilling role in the growth of our school.
