Job Description

The head coach provides leadership of the program through teaching, coaching, mentoring, character development, and recruiting high quality student-athletes. The headcoachisalsoaccountableforallaspectsofaDivisionIsportprogram,including but not limited to: compliance, budget, scheduling, staff oversight, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Establishingapositiveteamcultureandpromotingexceptionalstudent-athlete experiences

  • Evaluatingandrecruitingacademicallyqualifiedandathleticallytalentedstudent athletes

  • Organizingandconductingteamworkoutsand competition

  • ArrangingaDivisionIscheduleandteam travel

  • Managingtheoperatingandscholarship budgets

  • Selectingandmanaginganyassistant coaches

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’sdegree or equivalent

  • Atleast3yearsofcoachingexperience

  • Theabilitytoworkeffectivelywithstudentathletes,colleaguesandthecampus community.

  • ThoroughunderstandingoftherulesandregulationsrelatedtoButlerUniversity, the Big East Conference and NCAA Division I

  • Outstandingverbalcommunicationandleadership skills.
