REPORTS TO:  Director of Athletics
JOB SUMMARY
Nichols College, a member of NCAA Division III located in Dudley, Massachusetts (Central MA), invites applications for a full-time, 12-month salaried Head Women’s Basketball Coach.
The Head Coach is responsible for the leadership, management, and overall success of the women’s basketball program. This position works collaboratively with the Director of Athletics to provide vision, supervision, and strategic direction while supporting the College’s mission and NCAA Division III philosophy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify, recruit, and retain qualified student-athletes who align with Nichols College values
- Plan, organize, and conduct practices, competitions, and team activities
- Support and monitor student-athlete academic success and personal development
- Manage program budget, equipment, and inventory
- Schedule contests and coordinate practice schedules
- Provide contest and event coverage as required
- Engage in fundraising initiatives and alumni relations efforts
- Ensure full compliance with NCAA, Conference of New England (CNE), and Nichols College policies
- Meet recruiting and program goals established by the Director of Athletics
- Attend departmental, conference, and institutional meetings
- Obtain and maintain College driving certification
- Serve as an active and collaborative member of the Division of Athletics
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree with experience in collegiate athletics
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to NCAA Division III philosophy
- Strong knowledge of basketball skills, strategies, and technical instruction
- Proven leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse campus constituencies
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with computers and standard office software
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
