Level Entry Job Location The Prep Academy at South Lexington - Lexington, KY 40517 Salary Range $22.69 - $24.96 Hourly

Job Function Statement: (overall job purpose and benefit to the operation)

Leader of teaching team in the early childhood classroom. Responsible for the overall development and implementation of the education program in the classroom to keep the classroom compliant with state licensing requirements, Head Start Performance Standards, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).



Qualifications

Preferred degree interdisciplinary early childhood education, early childhood special education, early childhood education, early childhood development, elementary education (P-5), childcare assistant, child development services, individual and family studies.

Related degree psychology, sociology, art therapy, child life, elementary education, nursing, speech therapy, counseling, human services, human services administration or program administration, nursery school teacher, university or general studies with emphasis in early childhood, physical therapy, occupational therapy.

Knowledge, Skills, experience, education, abilities:

  1. a. Teacher I: MA plus IECE certification

b. Teacher II: BA plus IECE certification; MA in related degree

with equivalent course work.

c. Teacher III: MA or BA in equivalent course work.

d. Teacher IV: AA in ECE; BA in related degree field.

e. Teacher V: CDA in the appropriate area, Infant/Toddler.

  1. Experience in early childhood classroom management, planning curriculum and record-keeping is required.
  2. Experience working with children with disabilities is highly desired.
  3. Experience with computers is highly desired.
