
Head Start has an opening for a full-time Teacher position working 35 hours per week. Responsible for working in collaboration with an Assistant Teacher to prepare and implement lesson plans for preschool children ages 3-5; completing required developmental, behavioral, and sensory screenings; ensuring lesson plans and teaching strategies are individualized for each child, including children with IEP’s; utilizing curriculum and computer software accurately; maintaining child records and documentation; participating in recruitment activities for enrollment, following all health and safety standards, and providing active supervision of all children at all times.
Requirements
A graduate from an accredited college or university with at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or correlated discipline is preferred; Associate degree in a related field with knowledge of child development and experience in teaching preschool children will be considered; furthering education may be required to meet additional Head Start requirements.
Must meet Head Start and Indiana Child Care Licensing Regulations, including Head Start Standards of Conduct, federal and state criminal history requirements, sex offender registry checks, drug screen, physical, and complete an annual T.B. test.
