NAME OF POSITION: Head Start and/or Early Head Start Classroom Substitute

Location: 535 Fisher Avenue, Phillipsburg, NJ

Hours- as needed, not to exceed 8 hours a day

$17.28-$19.59

Job Overview

We are a fast-paced and high-demand, non-profit program that depends on everybody in every position to help our centers function with ease. You will gain diverse experience working with an at-risk population.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist classroom staff in maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children and staff.
  • Support classroom activities and lesson implementation.
  • Promote positive child interactions and development.
  • Assist with daily routines and caregiving tasks.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Level: High school diploma working towards CDA to be completed within two years of hire.

Preferred Education Level: Child Development Associate (CDA)- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field.

Experience: Experience working with young children.

Preferred Experience: 2 years' experience in early childhood education and direct experience with at-risk population, Head Start experience.

Personal characteristics: compassionate, organized, flexible, communicator, team-player

Physical abilities: Lift 30 pounds
