Job Purpose:

The Security Lead is responsible for overseeing the implementation of security measures at KAPL, ensuring compliance with aviation security regulations, and coordinating security operations across all functions. They bridge the gap between the Security Head and Security Officers, managing day-to-day security activities, enhancing procedures, and ensuring the safety of facilities and operations.

*Key Responsibilities of Role

1. Security Operations Management:

• Oversee and supervise the thorough screening of passengers and baggage at airports, ensuring high security standards and preventing unauthorized access.
• Manage the guarding of aircraft and access control, coordinating with Security Officers to ensure only authorized personnel have entry.
• Oversee the opening and closing of aircraft for maintenance and checks, ensuring secure procedures are followed.
• Implement and monitor special security measures during periods of heightened risk or for critical flights and routes.
• Conduct regular patrolling of airport facilities and aircraft, addressing any anti-sabotage activities and ensuring electronic debugging is performed

2. Regulatory Compliance and Coordination:

• Coordinate with AAI, CISF, ALU, FRRO, Airlines, Immigration, and Customs to ensure timely regulatory permissions and compliance with national and international regulations.
• Oversee the issuance and management of airport passes, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Maintain and update all necessary documentation and reports, ensuring compliance with aviation security regulations

3. Team Supervision and Training:

• Supervise and provide guidance to Security Officers, ensuring they follow established security procedures and maintain high standards of performance.
• Coordinate training for security personnel, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest security practices and regulations.
• Evaluate security operations and procedures, recommending improvements and implementing changes to enhance security measures.
• + Staff supervision - grooming, time & attendance, etc.

4. Stakeholder Management:

• Support and manage security-related interactions with customers and stakeholders, ensuring a secure and pleasant experience during departures and arrivals.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address security concerns and improve security protocols.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with business and service partners, ensuring effective communication and coordination.

5. Security Program Development:

• Manage the development and implementation of KAPL’s security program as well as BCAS circulars, orders and internal security circulars, ensuring it is current, comprehensive, and approved by relevant authorities.
• Monitor the effectiveness of security measures, conducting regular evaluations and internal audits.
• Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines, making necessary updates to reflect changes in regulations or operational needs

6. Adminstration:

• Ensure timely processing of lease payments and utility bills (e.g., electricity, water). Keep accurate records and escalate any discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of agreement renewals and ensure they are updated as per schedule.
• Maintain regular communication with airport authorities for operational needs, reporting to the Security Head for any escalations.
• Supervise ongoing maintenance tasks and small-scale construction projects in the workplace (e.g., repairs or upgrades).
• Assist in the operational management of uniform procurement, ensuring quality checks and coordinating with vendors for deliveries.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of third-party aircraft cleaning services, ensuring compliance with company standards and schedules.

7. IT Support Coordination:

• Ensure the proper distribution of IT hardware and software to employees, maintaining inventory and updating asset allocation records.
• Review and process asset replacement requests, coordinating with the central IT team for approvals and procurement.
• Provide on-ground support for employees during software migration and system updates, liaising with the IT team.
