  • Provide independent oversight of portfolio quality, credit monitoring governance, early warning management, and portfolio remediation activities across the Emerging Enterprise Singapore portfolio to ensure portfolio risks are proactively identified, assessed, escalated, and addressed.

  • Lead the monitoring and assessment of portfolio health indicators, including non-performing loans (NPLs), delinquency trends, watchlist and Special Mention accounts, restructured facilities, and early warning signals, while identifying emerging portfolio risks and recommending appropriate mitigating actions.

  • Establish and maintain robust portfolio monitoring frameworks, risk surveillance processes, and reporting mechanisms to support effective risk management and sustainable portfolio growth.

  • Oversee the timely completion and quality of annual credit reviews, credit undertakings, portfolio monitoring controls, and governance reporting to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk standards.

  • Drive the enhancement of early warning detection capabilities and monitoring tools to identify deteriorating credit conditions, facilitate timely risk escalation, and ensure appropriate action plans are implemented in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

  • Manage and oversee problem credit monitoring activities, ensuring emerging credit issues are proactively addressed and risk mitigation measures are effectively executed.

  • Lead portfolio remediation initiatives arising from regulatory examinations, internal audits, policy reviews, portfolio reviews, and risk assessments, ensuring remediation actions are implemented effectively and outcomes are tracked to completion.

  • Provide independent challenge and risk oversight to Business, Credit, and other stakeholders on portfolio risk matters, credit quality trends, emerging risks, and remediation strategies.

  • Partner closely with Emerging Enterprise, Credit, Collections, Compliance, Audit, and senior management to strengthen portfolio governance, risk controls, and risk management effectiveness.

  • Prepare and present portfolio risk assessments, governance reports, and risk insights to senior management and relevant governance committees to support informed decision-making.

  • Drive continuous improvement in portfolio monitoring processes, governance frameworks, risk analytics capabilities, and control effectiveness to enhance portfolio risk management standards.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Risk Monitoring team by establishing clear performance expectations, fostering professional development, building succession pipelines, and promoting a strong risk-aware culture.

  • Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and prudent risk management across the portfolio and wider organisation.

  • Support strategic business growth by balancing risk oversight with commercial objectives and ensuring the portfolio remains aligned with the Bank’s risk appetite and regulatory expectations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Economics, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 10-15 years of banking experience, preferably within SME, Commercial, or Business Banking.

  • Strong experience in credit risk management, portfolio monitoring, risk analytics, and problem credit management.

  • Sound knowledge of credit policies, risk governance, and regulatory requirements.

  • Proven ability to identify emerging risks, drive remediation initiatives, and manage portfolio quality.

  • Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders across business and control functions.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performing teams.
