The Head Procurement External Supply Aseptics/inj. defines and drives execution of the global sourcing strategy for externally manufactured aseptic products, ensuring secure, compliant, and cost-competitive supply while driving year-on-year productivity and value creation in close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate business strategy into a procurement roadmap and define the sourcing approach for external aseptic manufacturing (DS/DP/FG)

  • Define and execute the external manufacturing network strategy (CMOs, dual sourcing, footprint optimization) in alignment with long-term business and manufacturing strategy to ensure supply availability and flexibility

  • Steer complex sourcing and transformation initiatives end-to-end, ensuring delivery against time, quality, and financial objectives

  • Analyze value chains and supply markets, applying total cost of ownership and should-cost modelling to identify optimisation opportunities

  • Lead, develop and coach the procurement team, fostering a high-performance, accountable and value-driven culture

  • Lead fact-based negotiations, applying a broad range of strategies to deliver outcomes aligned with business and Procurement objectives

  • Build and manage strategic supplier relationships across the external manufacturing network (CMOs), driving long-term partnerships, performance, and continuous value creation

  • Identify and onboard the right suppliers, leveraging innovative scientific and technical solutions and exploring new ways of working across the external network

  • Secure long-term capacity and supply through effective contracting and partnership models

  • Act as a strategic business partner to senior stakeholders across Technical Operations, Quality, Finance and ESO

What you will bring to the role:

  • Master’s Degree/other advanced degree in the Economics, Finance or related areas is needed

  • Preferably more than 8 years of experience in Procurement or other related experience within the Pharmaceutical industry, preferably in category management, supplier management, or related area, with a focus in the FDF or API category.

  • Strong project management or other leadership experience.

  • Proven resilience and ability to perform effectively in a complex, fast-changing environment, balancing multiple priorities and navigating ambiguity

  • Strong strategic thinking and long-term planning capabilities, with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable procurement and sourcing strategies.

  • Results-driven mindset with strong business acumen, accountability, and focus on value creation.

What we offer:

Job location: Ljubljana (Slovenia), Madrid (Spain) or Prague (Czechia)

Contract type: permanent contract with 6-month probation period

Expected weekly working hours: 40

Pay range in Slovenia(annual gross salary): € 90400 - € 135600*

Salary at Sandoz is based on job level, qualifications, specific skills, and work experience. Fully proficient candidates are usually placed around the market median, less experienced candidates lower in the range, and those with strong or niche expertise higher. When determining placement within the range, we also consider internal pay equity and external market data.*

Our compensation package in Slovenia additionally includes:

  • Annual bonus (STI) percentage of annual salary
  • Vacation allowance in 2025 it was 2,430.99 net
  • Christmas bonus in 2025 it was 2,100 gross

  • Voluntary Additional Pension Scheme The company fully covers the contribution for your supplementary pension plan, amounting to 5.844% of your gross salary
  • Allowance for shift work (15%); rotational shifts (20%), night shift work (70%), Sunday/public holiday work (50%), overtime work (30%) if applicable for position
