About the Role

As Head Porter, you'll be responsible for leading the daily operations of our Porter team, ensuring every guest receives a warm, professional, and memorable welcome. Working closely with the Front Office leadership team, you'll drive service excellence, support team development, and ensure our arrival and departure experience reflects Accor's Heartist culture.

This is a hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same.

  • Lead, coach and support the Porter team to deliver exceptional guest service.
  • Oversee valet parking, luggage services, guest transportation and concierge operations.
  • Manage team rosters, training and daily porter operations.
  • Ensure activity sales procedures are followed, coordinate operator familiarisations, and reconcile sales each shift.
  • Assist guests with enquiries, local recommendations and activity bookings.
  • Drive activity sales through exceptional guest engagement.
  • Work closely with Front Office and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Support reception duties as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Accor standards and health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Previous team lead, supervisory or leadership experience in a hotel Porter, Concierge or Front Office environment will be advantageous.
  • A passion for creating exceptional guest experiences.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Confidence managing a busy operation while remaining calm under pressure.
  • A valid full driver's licence with confidence driving both manual and automatic vehicles.
  • Experience with hotel property management systems (Opera experience is advantageous).
  • Excellent knowledge of Queenstown and surrounding attractions is highly desirable.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
