Team Introduction:

The TikTok Tax team collaborates closely with other corporate functions on tax advisory, planning, structuring, and tax controversy matters. We ensure compliance with both direct (corporate income tax) and indirect taxes, and we proactively address tax-related issues.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Country Tax Manager to join our team in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to support the growing complexity of our business operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both direct and indirect tax compliance, with in-depth knowledge of Vietnamese tax regulations. A background in e-commerce or logistics is preferred.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage all aspects of tax compliance, including preparation, verification, payment, filing, and variance analysis.

- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all applicable taxes, including the preparation and lodgement of local tax filings such as VAT (Value Added Tax), Foreign Contractor Tax (FCT), Corporate Income Tax, and other relevant returns, in compliance with local tax regulations.

- Maintain organised and audit-ready tax records and documentation.

- Respond to internal and external tax inquiries and provide timely technical support to business partners on tax-related matters.

- Collaborate with business teams and other departments to assess operational activities and mitigate tax risks.

- Handle tax queries and audits from local tax authorities, including preparing necessary documentation, providing support during audits, and maintaining professional relationships with the authorities.

- Support accounting teams with tax-related journal entries and reconciliation of tax accounts in the general ledger.

- Review contracts, invoices, and other relevant documents to ensure tax compliance and minimize tax exposure.

- Lead or support internal projects aimed at improving tax processes, optimising workflows, and reducing risks or costs to the business.

- Monitor and communicate updates on tax laws and regulations that may impact business operations.

- Perform other ad hoc tasks as required.
