As Head of Vehicle Electronics & SW, you will lead a team of approximately 15 engineers working across Body Electronics, EDS, Electronic Hardware, Function Design, System Design and Electrical Component Design. The team plays a key role in ensuring that vehicle functions and body electronics solutions are successfully adapted for European customer needs, regulatory requirements and market expectations.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing both people and capabilities while ensuring that the team continues to contribute with strong engineering expertise across the product development process. You will work close to decision-makers within the organization and collaborate extensively with counterparts and engineering teams in China. The role includes regular international travel, primarily to China, approximately 4-6 times per year.

The position offers a unique opportunity to influence both technical direction and organizational development in a fast-moving international environment. This is a leadership role for someone who enjoys navigating complexity, building trust across cultures and creating the conditions for a high-performing engineering organization.

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach and develop a team of approximately 15 engineers across several Vehicle Electronics and Software disciplines.
• Build a strong team culture focused on ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Strengthen the team's contribution within product development and ensure the right competencies are available over time.
• Drive stakeholder alignment and collaboration with counterparts and engineering teams in China.
• Represent and advocate for the team's expertise in cross-functional discussions and decision-making forums.
• Contribute to organizational development and help shape how Vehicle Electronics & SW capabilities evolve going forward.
• Support strategic competence planning, recruitment and retention activities.

After your first 6-12 months in the role, you have:

• Built a motivated and high-performing team with strong engagement and retention.
• Strengthened collaboration and trust with key stakeholders in China while maintaining a clear European perspective.
• Created greater ownership within the team and expanded its influence and contribution in product development.
• Established a clear direction for competence development and long-term capability growth.

You are an experienced engineering leader who combines technical credibility with strong people leadership. You know how to create engagement, build trust and help experienced engineers perform at their best. You are comfortable operating in dynamic environments where priorities evolve and where collaboration across cultures is part of everyday work. You thrive in an international environment where priorities may evolve quickly and where building alignment across cultures requires persistence, resilience and strong stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications:

• Previous people leadership experience within engineering organizations.
• At least 10 years of experience within EE, Electronics, Software and/or Hardware automotive development.
• Strong engineering background with the ability to understand and discuss technical topics across multiple disciplines.
• Experience from an OEM and/or Tier 1 supplier environment.
• Experience working in international and cross-functional organizations.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Experience collaboration with engineering organizations in China is considered meritorious.
