Job Description

At MECCA, our Distribution Centre is the beating heart of our business, ensuring our customers receive their products seamlessly across Australia and New Zealand.

As Head of Transport, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping and delivering MECCA’s end-to-end transport strategy, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of goods from our global partners to our stores and customers.

The Role You Could Play

You will lead the Freight & Logistics function, driving operational excellence, commercial performance, and innovation across inbound and outbound transport networks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute a multi-year transport strategy aligned to MECCA’s growth and customer promise

  • Lead and inspire the Freight & Logistics team to deliver high performance and continuous improvement

  • Manage key freight, 3PL, and carrier relationships to optimise service, cost, and scalability

  • Drive operational excellence across inbound and outbound freight, improving delivery speed, reliability, and visibility

  • Ensure compliance with safety, Chain of Responsibility, and all transport legislation

What You Will Bring

You are a strategic and commercially minded transport leader who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-first environment.

  • Proven experience in transport,logistics, or supply chain leadership roles (5+ years)

  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, cost-to-serve, and supplier contracts

  • Expertisein international freight, customs processes, and retail/ecommercelogistics

  • Experience managing freight forwarders, carriers, and 3PL providers

  • A strong safety mindset with knowledge of compliance and risk management in transport

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills
