Global R&D – Software & Electronics
At Ambu, we are advancing our ambition to achieve global leadership in endoscopy. Software is at the core of this journey, enabling intelligent, connected solutions that improve patient care and clinical outcomes. Join us in building technology that helps healthcare professionals make a real difference for patients every day.
In our ZoomAhead strategy, EndoIntelligence is central as a platform combining hardware, software, and AI to support integrated endoscopy solutions across the procedure journey. As Ambu scales its digital ambitions, Software & Electronics plays a key role in building the capabilities behind these solutions.
To support this ambition, we are strengthening Software & Electronics and scaling our ability to develop, verify, and release high-quality solutions with confidence. We are now looking for a Head of Test & Verification to lead and mature this capability across the organization.
In this role, you will lead the Test & Verification department within Software & Electronics and shape how Ambu verifies complex, software-heavy medical device systems. The department brings together test and verification capabilities in a newly combined function with the ambition to build a stronger, more scalable setup.
You will report directly to the Vice President, Software & Electronics and be part of the leadership team shaping the direction of software and electronics across Global R&D. In close collaboration with EndoIntelligence Solutions and key stakeholders across R&D, you will help strengthen the platform delivery engine behind Ambu’s EndoIntelligence journey.
Your mission is to set the vision and strategy for Test & Verification across Software & Electronics and build a setup that enables earlier verification, stronger automation, and greater release confidence. You will help drive a significant maturity step in how requirements, development, verification, and design control come together across the broader system, supporting a more regular and predictable release cadence while maintaining the quality and regulatory compliance required in medical device development.
You will initially lead a team of 12 skilled test and verification professionals across Ballerup, Augsburg, and Penang, requiring strong cross-site collaboration and alignment.
As the function grows, you will help define the organizational setup and leadership capacity needed to support future scale.
Your responsibilities will span strategic direction, organizational leadership, and operational excellence. You will:
Success in the role will come in two horizons. Within the first 3–6 months, you are expected to establish a clear vision, strategy, and direction for Test & Verification in Software & Electronics. Within 6–12 months, you will have translated this into a stronger operating model, improved ways of working, and tangible progress in automation, release confidence, release rhythm, and organizational maturity.
You are an experienced test and verification leader who combines technical depth with the ability to set direction, build capability, and bring people together around a shared ambition. You lead with clarity, collaboration, and a genuine motivation to make a difference through the solutions your teams help bring to market.
Experience from medical device development or another regulated, quality-critical environment, including familiarity with standards and regulations such as IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, MDR, and FDA design control expectations, will be an advantage—but is not a requirement.
You are a technically credible and improvement-oriented leader who brings clarity, structure, and momentum in a complex environment. At the same time, you are a people leader who creates trust, builds followership, and helps others succeed.
You see test and verification not only as a quality safeguard, but as a way to enable faster learning, better decisions, and more confident releases.
You enjoy improving how teams work across disciplines, and you are motivated by turning an existing capability into something stronger, more scalable, and more effective. You do this in a collaborative way, with respect for different perspectives and a focus on shared results.
You balance pace and pragmatism with the discipline required in regulated medical device development, and you bring the drive to lead change in a collaborative way.
This is a unique opportunity to:
You will join a global and collaborative R&D organization with teams across Denmark, Germany, and Malaysia. We value close collaboration, trust, and a shared ambition to improve patient care through innovation.
The role is based at our office in Ballerup, Denmark or Augsburg, Germany and involves approximately 15–20 travel days per year.
At Ambu, your work matters. You will help shape capabilities that are critical to how we bring software-enabled solutions to market and improve outcomes for healthcare professionals and patients around the world. In return, you will join an international company with ambitious growth plans, strong professional communities, and the opportunity to make a real impact.

Innovations that make a difference
Ever since 1937, Ambu has been rethinking medical solutions to save lives and improve patient care. Millions of patients and healthcare professionals worldwide depend on the efficiency, safety and performance of our single-use endoscopy, anaesthesia and patient monitoring solutions.

More recently, we responded to a need for an endoscopy solution that is always available. The result? Ambu® aScope™, the world’s first sterile, single-use flexible endoscope.
Today, we continue to collaborate with leading medical experts to deliver innovations that make a real difference to healthcare professionals and their patients.
At our headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, and around the world in Europe, North America and the Asia Pacific, 5,000+ team members keep Ambu moving forward.
