Head of Technology & Platforms

You will be responsible for setting the technical direction and overseeing the implementation and operations across all our projects and functions, ensuring that modern technologies are integrated effectively into everything we do. This role is about building a technical foundation that supports our social initiatives and ensures that our technology acts as a multiplier for our mission.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy, R&D & Implementation

• Create and execute a unified technical roadmap that aligns our digital tools with our projects and long-term social goals.
• Drive the "build vs. buy" strategy. We want to leverage existing open-source or commercial tools whenever it makes sense before committing to custom development.
• Support the rollout of internal automation and AI-driven workflows to improve how the entire division operates.

Governance & Infrastructure

• Own and implement standards for cybersecurity and data privacy.
• Manage our cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), balancing security, reliability, and performance with cost-efficiency and ensuring we meet local data residency laws.
• Lead technical vendor management and build strategic partnerships with major tech companies and research institutions.
  
  

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• 5-7 years of experience in senior technical leadership roles (CTO, VP of Engineering, or Head of Engineering), with a proven track record of delivering projects, scaling digital products, and building resilient, efficient systems and platforms.
• Deep understanding of modern solution and platform architecture practices, project delivery methodologies, experience with Automation and modern AI (LLMs, agentic workflows), Data Science, and Big Data infrastructure (Data Lakes, ETL), knowledge and experience working with hyperscalers and modern PaaS and SaaS solutions
• Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field degree is preferred; however, extensive experience in technical architecture and engineering disciplines will be considered as a primary factor.
