Qantas is changing the way customers shop with us. Modern Airline Retailing moves the airline beyond legacy distribution and passenger servicing to an offer and order world of dynamic pricing, personalised bundles, and a single view of every customer order across every channel. It is one of the biggest shifts in airline technology in decades, and we are building the platforms, teams and partnerships to lead it.
The Head of Technology, Modern Airline Retailing is responsible for developing and maintaining the approved technology strategy for Qantas’ commercial and retailing platforms, spanning airline commercial systems, loyalty systems, revenue management, inventory, passenger service systems, payments, passenger revenue accounting and data and reporting, to meet the current and future needs of the Qantas Group and ensure alignment across the core technology function.
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the role is a senior leadership position and will be instrumental in supporting critical organisational and technology transformations, and will work closely in the evaluation and solution development of key technology investments. This role will be required to build and maintain strong relationships across commercial, digital and operational teams, and with our platform and distribution partners, to develop a clear understanding of business needs and ensure the cost-effective delivery of technology and digital services to meet those needs. This includes owning the key technology decisions to build for the long-term while managing roadmaps and business needs. As a people leader, this role will be a key decision-maker in regard to the recruitment and retaining of top talent, providing employee coaching, mentoring, development and team building.
