External Reporting & Audit Committee Support

  • Coordinate technical input from external advisors where required

Transactions, Restructuring & Tax

  • Partner with Tax, Legal, and Corporate Development on restructurings, acquisitions, disposals, and other strategic transactions
  • Assess accounting implications of tax restructurings and complex group structures
  • Ensure accounting outcomes are aligned with commercial intent and regulatory requirements

Accounting Policies, Manuals & Procedures

  • Own and maintain the Group accounting manual, policies, and procedures, ensuring they remain current and fit for purpose
  • Lead implementation of new and revised accounting standards across the Group
  • Provide guidance and training to finance teams on technical accounting matters and policy changes

Risk, Control & Compliance

  • Ensure accounting policies and judgements support strong control environments and meet external reporting and regulatory expectations
  • Support Internal Audit and regulatory reviews on technical accounting matters
  • Identify and proactively manage technical accounting risks across the Group

Leadership & Capability

  • Build and develop technical accounting capability across the Group finance function
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior finance leaders and a coach to regional and divisional teams

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, competencies and experience:

  • Extensive technical accounting experience within a large, complex, listed organisation and/or top-tier professional services firm
  • Deep expertise in IFRS (or relevant accounting framework), with a strong track record of advising on complex and judgemental areas

  • Experience supporting restructurings, transactions, and tax-related accounting matters
  • Strong professional judgement with the ability to articulate and defend accounting positions clearly

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in explaining complex matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Able to influence outcomes while maintaining strong relationships with auditors and advisors
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and intellectually rigorous
  • Calm and effective under pressure, particularly around reporting deadlines and complex issues
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to balance technical compliance with business objectives
