What you'll be doing:

As Head of Tax for Avon International, you will lead the tax function across a diverse portfolio of markets spanning APAC, Western Europe, TMEA, and Central Europe. Partnering closely with the CFO and senior leadership team, you'll provide strategic tax guidance that supports business growth while ensuring compliance across all tax disciplines. This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll build strong relationships with stakeholders, advisors, and tax authorities while helping shape the future direction of Avon International.

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing and enhancing Avon International's global tax strategy, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal requirements.
  • Advising senior leaders on the tax implications of strategic business initiatives, transactions, and organisational changes.
  • Leading international tax planning activities across multiple markets and collaborating with local finance teams and external advisors.
  • Managing global tax audits, inquiries, and relationships with tax authorities.
  • Assessing the impact of evolving international tax regulations, including OECD developments and Pillar Two initiatives.
  • Owning cash tax forecasting and supporting business objectives through effective tax planning and management.
  • Overseeing direct and indirect tax compliance, tax accounting, tax reporting, and transfer pricing documentation across all markets.
  • Maintaining and enhancing governance frameworks to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
  • Identifying tax risks and opportunities, recommending pragmatic solutions, and implementing strategies to optimise outcomes.
  • Providing transfer pricing guidance and ensuring compliance across international operations.
  • Supporting employment tax and indirect tax matters, including negotiations and dispute resolution where required.
  • Leading, developing, and mentoring a high-performing tax team while supporting succession planning and capability building.

What we're looking for:

  • A recognised professional tax qualification (Institute of Tax or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in senior tax leadership roles, ideally with responsibility for multiple international markets.
  • Strong UK tax expertise, with knowledge of EMEA and APAC tax environments and transfer pricing principles.
  • Experience developing tax strategies, managing compliance, and advising senior business leaders on complex tax matters.
  • Strong understanding of international tax regulations, tax accounting, and governance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with tax authorities, external advisors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to make decisions in complex and ambiguous situations.
  • Experience leading teams and delivering multiple projects within a matrix organisation.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to balance risk management with business objectives.
  • Experience in treasury, direct selling, or consumer goods organisations would be advantageous.
