A career with us fosters the chance to be a part of a company that is transforming the digital and physical retail space. Every day, our people play a vital role in our purpose to ‘create extraordinary places, connecting and enriching communities.’

Delivering our 2030 Strategy requires a long-term focus on operational excellence, resilience and sustainable value creation. Environmental sustainability plays an important role in supporting this ambition by helping us create more efficient destinations, strengthen business resilience and deliver positive outcomes for our communities, customers and stakeholders.

Its impact is reflected in stronger organisational capability, more informed decision-making and the successful integration of sustainability into enterprise priorities.

You will have overall accountability for:

  • Developing and shaping the organisation’s environmental sustainability strategy, priorities and roadmap, aligned to business objectives and emerging trends.
  • Partnering with operational and business leaders to translate the strategy into practical priorities, initiatives and measurable environmental outcomes.
  • Providing practical advice on operational initiatives that drive environmental sustainability, drawing on emerging trends, leading practices and experience delivering sustainability initiatives.
  • Influencing strategic and business priorities through sustainability insight, expertise and practical experience, identifying opportunities to improve environmental performance and create value.
  • Identifying sustainability risks and opportunities and partnering with leaders to shape strategic responses and drive implementation.
  • Developing executive presentations, briefings, communications and strategic updates that translate complex sustainability issues into clear strategic choices, business implications and actions.
  • Building trusted relationships across executive, operational and enterprise stakeholder groups to drive alignment and delivery.
  • Enhancing organisational sustainability capability through coaching, guidance and knowledge sharing.
  • Representing the organisation in industry forums and external networks to strengthen insight, influence and reputation.

What will set you apart from the rest?

  • Deep experience in environmental sustainability, climate risk/opportunity, emissions reduction, and sustainability regulation.
  • Proven ability to translate complex sustainability requirements into practical business actions and outcomes.
  • Experience developing and implementing sustainability strategies and environmental performance initiatives.
  • Strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment across large, complex organisations.
  • Skilled in preparing executive-level communications, presentations, and strategic recommendations.
  • Ability to connect sustainability priorities with commercial objectives, business risks, and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated experience working across diverse stakeholder groups and managing competing priorities to deliver outcomes.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with a reputation as a trusted advisor and collaborative partner.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, evolving environments, using sound judgement and a pragmatic approach.
  • Proven capability to simplify complex issues, drive action, and balance long-term sustainability goals with practical delivery.
