
As Head of Supplier Technical Development & Field Reliability (m/f/d), you take full technical ownership of supplier-related field issues within the wind industry. You lead a team of experts and ensure rapid, structured resolution of critical failures while driving sustainable improvements in supplier quality, reliability, and manufacturing excellence. Working closely with Service, Engineering, Quality, and Procurement, you strengthen the technical maturity of the global supply base.
YOUR TASKS
As Head of Supplier Technical Development & Field Reliability (m/f/d), you ensure rapid containment, root cause analysis, and sustainable corrective actions for critical supplier-related field failures
You own end-to-end supplier technical performance with a clear focus on field reliability and risk mitigation across components and systems
You establish and govern a structured supplier technical maturity assessment framework aligned with industry and internal standards
You drive initiatives to improve process capability and reduce variation in critical electrical and mechanical characteristics
You ensure strong integration between design engineering and supplier manufacturing, applying design-for-manufacturing and design-for-reliability principles
You lead structured problem-solving approaches using methodologies such as FMEA, DMAIC, and DOE for systemic and high-impact failures
You develop and coach a high-performing team, aligning resources to business risk priorities and strengthening supplier technical expertise and reliability know-how
YOUR PROFILE
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
10+ year’s experience in supplier technical development, quality leadership, manufacturing processes, and field failure resolution in an industrial environment like wind, aeronautical, energy or related
Proven leadership experience with the ability to guide technical teams and drive cross-functional initiatives at senior level and manage collaboration across international teams and functions
Strong commercial mindset with the ability to assess cost implications and balance technical decisions with business impact
Solid understanding of complex manufacturing processes, validation methods, and relevant testing and certification standards
Strong technical expertise in wind turbine components, transformers, or comparable heavy electrical systems is an advantage
Advanced knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), FMEA, DMAIC, and design of experiments (DOE)
Excellent communication skills, strong decision-making ability, and the confidence to influence stakeholders at international scale and senior level
Fluent English skills; German language skills are a plus
