Salary: £47-49,000 dependent on experience

As Head of Subject - ICT at King’s InterHigh, you will provide leadership and strategic direction for the ICT department, working under the Head of Computing and closely with the Executive Head to support the school’s ongoing development and maintain high standards across the subject area. The role involves leading and managing staff, driving improvements in teaching and learning, and ensuring students make strong academic progress. You will be responsible for the quality and delivery of a broad, balanced and inclusive ICT curriculum, while supporting colleagues in developing their teaching practice and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. A key focus of the role is raising attainment, monitoring student achievement, and fostering a positive learning environment where all students are encouraged to develop confidence, resilience and a belief in their ability to succeed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the ICT department.
• Oversee curriculum design, assessment, quality assurance and academic performance across Key Stages.
• Monitor student progress and implement interventions to raise attainment and achievement.
• Manage, coach and appraise teaching staff, supporting professional development and high-quality teaching.
• Analyse assessment and examination data to drive departmental improvement and inform decision-making.
• Collaborate with academic, pastoral and support teams to improve student outcomes and wellbeing.
• Contribute to whole-school improvement planning, self-evaluation and cross-curricular initiatives.
• Promote student engagement through enrichment activities, clubs and subject-related events.
• Manage departmental resources, budgets and documentation, ensuring compliance with school policies and safeguarding procedures.
