Job Description

Imagine a future where you shape and scale a structured portfolio that delivers commercial value through bespoke deals, disciplined portfolio management and strong P&L accountability in the energy transition

Join us in this role where you’ll lead and grow a newly established area within Trading & Revenue. You’ll lead a dedicated front-office organisation for structured products, ensuring profitable growth through clear ownership, commercial focus, and end-to-end P&L responsibility. Your main focus will be building a strong proprietary, structured business, enabling growth beyond Ørsted’s asset portfolio into new value pools. As it is a new area, building new capabilities and establishing processes and interfaces is an integral part of the role initially.

Welcome to Trading & Revenue

You’ll be part of the Trading & Revenue Senior Leadership Team and will be responsible for building and leading a Structured Portfolio organisation of approximately 22 FTEs; this team will play a key role in delivering on Trading & Revenue’s 2030 ambitions and is expected to deliver a sustainable P&L within agreed risk limits.

As a company, we are curious, collaborative, and results-focused, challenging each other respectfully and acting with integrity under pressure.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • building and managing a structured portfolio, focusing on active position management of structured / illiquid products, and using standard market products to hedge and manage positions with full P&L responsibility
  • finetuning the commercial strategy for your organization and ensuring disciplined execution
  • leading power origination as a discipline and providing origination support to other portfolios across T&R
  • ensuring effective contract lifecycle management, performance monitoring, and dispute handling in close collaboration with back office and risk
  • building and managing relationships with counterparties and overseeing the deal pipeline across markets
  • working closely with analytics, trading, portfolio management and risk to ensure robust pricing, valuation, and implementation of structured transactions.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • bring senior level leadership experience and P&L responsibility from structured trading, structuring, origination, or pricing environments within an energy (trading) company or equivalent experience
  • combine strong commercial acumen with hands on experience from a structured trading & origination environment
  • have led and developed teams and feel motivated by building new capabilities and organisations
  • understand portfolio management and valuation concepts and how to optimise exposure and profits within risk limits
  • communicate with credibility at senior stakeholder level and collaborate effectively across trading, risk, analytics and operations
  • act with integrity, decisiveness, and a solutions focused mindset in complex, high stakes environments.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.

About Ørsted

Ørsted is the global leader in offshore wind power and is one of the largest renewable energy companies in the world.

Within a decade, we transformed from being one of Europe’s most fossil fuel-intensive utilities to being ranked as one of the most sustainable energy companies in the world. Today, we’re guided by a clear vision: to create a world that runs entirely on green energy.

We provide countries, companies, and communities with sustainable, reliable, and cost-competitive energy solutions, including offshore and onshore wind, solar, renewable hydrogen, and energy storage. We built the world’s first offshore wind farm back in 1991, and with over 2,000 turbines at sea, we’ve installed more offshore wind capacity than anyone else. In total, we own or operate over 17 GW of renewable energy capacity across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

We know that to build renewable energy at pace and scale, we must build it right. We commit to developing and operating our assets in harmony with nature and in line with the need for science-based climate action. We prioritise integrity and safety in our operations, and we respect the human rights and diverse values of every employee and stakeholder.

As a global renewable energy leader, we leverage the curiosity and passion of our people to innovate and take new or existing technologies to scale, collaborating with governments, suppliers, and our industry partners to make green energy solutions a reality.
