  • Salary in line with Council Band 8, commencing at $128,188.03 per annum plus 12% superannuation

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to partner across all business units within Council and play a pivotal role as the lead and subject matter expert for the organisation’s Procurement function. In this role, you will shape and elevate a robust procurement framework, driving continuous improvement through the review and redesign of processes to enable efficient, effective and future-focused work practices.

You will work closely with key stakeholders to understand and anticipate business needs, providing strategic guidance to deliver high-value procurement outcomes that directly support organisational priorities and community impact.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level strategic advice to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) on the ongoing development and evolution of the organisation’s procurement and tendering framework
  • Lead and implement strategic procurement initiatives that drive efficiencies and support enhanced capital works and operational delivery
  • Oversee and continuously improve the Contract Management Framework, including associated strategies, initiatives and procedures
  • Deliver expert, practical advice and support to senior leaders and staff on procurement and tendering matters, including relevant legislative requirements
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to plan, develop, source and manage strategic procurement arrangements that align with organisational objectives

Skills & Experience

You bring demonstrated procurement experience within a complex organisation, with the ability to influence outcomes at a strategic level.

You hold relevant tertiary qualifications or have developed equivalent expertise through extensive and diverse experience in procurement or a related field.

Critical to your success will be:

  • A strong understanding of procurement principles, frameworks and best practice
  • Proven experience identifying, recommending and implementing initiatives that drive cost efficiencies and sustainable procurement outcomes
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships across the organisation
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational delivery
