As part of its continued growth and ambition in the Benelux region, CMA CGM is looking for a Head of Sales – Short Sea Lines Benelux to lead, develop, and drive the regional Short Sea Lines commercial organization in line with Group strategy and objectives.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Head of Sales Short Sea Lines Benelux, you are responsible for defining and executing the commercial strategy for the Short Sea market across Belgium and the Netherlands. You translate Group objectives into concrete action plans and sustainable results, while building a high-performing sales organization.

You lead and empower the Benelux SSL Sales team, ensuring strong customer engagement, long-term volume growth, and diversification of revenue streams. At the same time, you act as a true ambassador of CMA CGM, strengthening our presence in the regional maritime and logistics ecosystem.

This role has 6-8 direct reports, whereof one is the lead for Belgium and the role reports to the CMA-CGM CCO Benelux Cluster.

Key Responsibilities

  • You define and drive the Short Sea Lines Sales Strategy for the Benelux market, aligned with Group and Cluster objectives.
  • You lead and structure the Benelux SSL sales organization, enabling teams to maximize customer engagement, identify growth opportunities, and deliver strong commercial performance.
  • You develop and monitor business and action plans in close collaboration with the Sales Manager Belgium and Sales and Account Managers in the Netherlands, ensuring disciplined execution and measurable impact.
  • You develop profitable and sustainable relationships with key customers, ensuring long-term volume growth and customer loyalty.
  • You drive new business development, actively identifying prospects, expanding the customer base, and accelerating commercial growth across the Benelux market.
  • You coach, support, and develop the sales team, building strong commercial capabilities and a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • You manage performance through CRM tools and KPIs, ensuring data-driven decision-making and proactively initiating corrective actions where needed.
  • You build and maintain a strong network within the maritime and logistics industry, representing Short Sea Lines at relevant events, associations, and customer engagements.
  • You report transparently on performance, progress, and challenges to key stakeholders, including Trade, Cluster CCO, GM, RO/HO, and other internal partners.
  • You contribute to enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty, ensuring consistent delivery of the Benelux commercial strategy.

Profile & Competencies

  • You bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, trade, or commercial operations within the maritime, shipping, or logistics industry.
  • You have proven people leadership experience, with a strong track record in developing teams, coaching managers, and building high-performing organizations.
  • You combine strong strategic thinking with hands-on execution, translating business objectives into measurable commercial results.
  • You demonstrate excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills, both internally and externally.
  • You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, international environment, collaborating effectively across functions and geographies.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English
  • You bring a strong customer focus, result-driven mindset, and a clear ambition to drive growth and continuous improvement.
