Job Purpose:

Reporting to Director of Military Programmes, this position exists to ensure the smooth running and development of the Salam Account. The Head of Salam will be responsible for a high standard of output from the Salam account, through effective direction of all Salam Opportunities, Proposals, Projects, Procurement and Services. This shall be achieved by ensuring strong leadership and management of the Salam team of Project/Capture Managers and Technical Architects. The Head of Salam is the primary point of contact with the customer (BAE Systems Saudi Arabia) in all matters.

The Head of Salam shall be an accomplished programme manager who can understand and further develop project management, contracts, and proposal development.

Accountabilities:

  • Maintain formal communications with the Customer for the delivery of all Salam Opportunities, Proposals, Projects, Procurement and Services.
  • Support the Customer in the development of clear Statements of Requirement to ensure all business needs are formally captured.
  • Direct Bid Management, Programme Delivery, Technical Solution and Service Delivery Resources
  • Responsible for authorising the IT technical response and solution proposition in response to a Customer’s Request for Proposal
  • Responsible for ensuring all proposals and projects progress through the necessary internal and external review processes, in order to obtain timely internal and/or external ELC/LCM approvals
  • Ensure all Salam Projects and Services achieve or exceed targets for Performance, Quality, Timeliness and Profitability.
  • Manage the Salam Account team members effectively through Performance Development Reviews, coaching, mentoring, succession management and career development.
  • Work with ISE HR in the forward-planning of Salam resources
  • Reporting to Senior ISE Management and functions on the operation of the Salam Account, through the formal SSR/CSR process
  • Collaborate closely with ISE Commercial and Procurement to ensure strong performance from key suppliers, and that all projects/proposals are delivered in the correct manner, under appropriate governance and controls

Relationship Management:

  • Personable, pro-active, professional able to demonstrate full commitment to exceptional customer delivery

  • Demonstrable ability to manage a team of Project Managers and Technical Architects

  • Ability to lead the Salam Account Team on large program and project propositions, inclusive of internal resources as well as 3rd party support vendors and contractors

  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively at all levels of the organization

  • Maintain effective relationships with third party suppliers

  • Maintain strong focus on customer relationships and impact on our customer service

  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.

  • Support and develop creative and innovative thinking from team members.

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant Degree – e.g. BA or BS degree in economics, business administration, engineering, marketing, or finance.
  • Formal project management qualification (APM, Prince, PMA) or Industry Technical Certifications, ITIL, etc.
  • 8 to 10 years general IT/ Business Experience
  • 5 years’ Programme and Project management experience, including the management of highly-experienced team members
  • Experience with the management of complex programmes/projects, including financial management and reporting to customers at a senior level
  • Significant experience of project delivery, preferably within a military business
  • Thorough understanding of Project Risk Management
