Head of Safety & Resilience Assurance

At Maersk, we are transforming how we manage risk, resilience, operational performance, and continuous improvement across our global operations network. We are looking for a visionary and influential leader to take Safety & Resilience (S&R) Assurance into its next phase of maturity.

This is not a traditional assurance role.

As Head of Safety & Resilience Assurance, you will lead the evolution of our Site Maturity Assessment and Assurance framework from a compliance-focused approach into an embedded way of working that drives operational excellence, frontline performance, and meaningful risk reduction across Maersk Operations.

You will have the opportunity to shape how assurance creates value across Logistics & Services while building stronger alignment across the wider A.P. Moller-Maersk organization.

The Opportunity

As Head of Safety & Resilience Assurance, you will:

Lead the Next Evolution of Assurance

• Define and implement the future vision for Site Maturity Assessment and S&R Assurance.
• Further mature assurance practices across Logistics & Services while supporting greater alignment across the wider Maersk organization.
• Establish S&R Assurance as a critical component within the broader assurance and accountability framework.

Drive Operations Excellence

• Connect assurance, operational risk, continuous improvement, and frontline operations.
• Use insights and assessments to improve operational performance and reduce risk.
• Position assurance as a business performance driver rather than simply a compliance activity.

Influence Across the Organization

• Build trusted relationships with operational leaders, business stakeholders, and functional teams.
• Challenge constructively while maintaining strong partnerships.
• Bring together diverse stakeholders to solve complex organizational challenges.

Demonstrate Business Value

• Clearly articulate and quantify the impact created through assurance activities.
• Create transparency around operational risks, improvement opportunities, and performance outcomes.
• Drive sustainable improvements across sites, regions, and functions.

Lead and Develop a Global Capability

• Continue building a high-performing assurance team.
• Create scalable and repeatable ways of working that can be embedded throughout the organization.
• Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, learning, and continuous improvement.

• Significant leadership experience within a large, complex international organization.
• Led operational excellence, transformation, assurance, risk, or continuous improvement programmes.
• Worked extensively across regions, functions, and business units.
• Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders.
• Experience creating scalable governance, assurance, or operational performance frameworks.
• A track record of reducing risk while improving operational outcomes.
