GEM Energy, now trading as RACQ Solar, is one of Australia’s most awarded solar companies. Supported by RACQ—one of Queensland’s most trusted brands—we’re expanding rapidly across the residential market and building a sales division capable of doubling again over the next 12–24 months.

Following the launch of the Cheaper Home Batteries rebate, RACQ Solar has experienced more than 300% growth. We are now recruiting a Head of Retail Sales to take charge of the next wave of expansion.

This role is for a proven sales leader who knows how to build a high-performance team, drive accountability, and create a culture of continual improvement. You’ll report directly to the CEO and have the backing of a strong brand, a modern product range, and a substantial marketing and lead-generation engine.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Leading the residential sales division to deliver aggressive growth targets across solar and battery solutions.
• Developing and executing the retail sales strategy, market positioning, and sales structure needed for scale.
• Recruiting, coaching, and performance-managing a team of lead generators and sales consultants.
• Lifting conversion rates through disciplined sales processes, training frameworks, and data-driven decision-making.
• Ensuring seamless handover from sales to operations, installation, and customer support.
• Reporting performance metrics, pipeline insights, and strategic recommendations to the leadership team.

What you bring

• Demonstrated success leading and growing a retail or field-based sales team.
• A track record of lifting conversion rates, implementing accountability structures, and building a performance culture.
• Strong commercial instincts and the ability to work with metrics, sales systems, reporting dashboards, and operational KPIs.
• Experience in solar or home energy is an advantage but not essential—leadership, structure, and sales excellence are.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
