The Role:
TAMI is seeking an experienced R&D Portfolio & PMO Manager to establish and lead portfolio management, project governance, and execution excellence across a diverse R&D organization. The role will drive strategic prioritization, resource optimization, project governance, and portfolio transparency to ensure alignment between R&D investments, business objectives, and customer needs.
What will your responsibilities be?
-Manage and oversee the TAMI R&D project portfolio.
-Lead portfolio prioritization and investment discussions based on strategic fit, business value, risk, feasibility, and resource availability.
-Provide visibility into project priorities, portfolio health, dependencies, and resource allocation.
-Support leadership decision-making through portfolio analytics and performance reporting.
-Establish and continuously improve project governance and stage-gate processes.
-Ensure projects are managed with clear objectives, deliverables, milestones, KPIs, and risk assessments.
-Facilitate project reviews and go/no-go decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
-Drive execution discipline while maintaining an agile and innovation-focused environment.
-Develop processes to balance project demand against available R&D capacity.
-Identify resource constraints, portfolio bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
-Support leadership in optimizing utilization of scientific and engineering resources.
-Partner with R&D leaders, laboratory managers, scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders.
-Align expectations around project scope, timelines, deliverables, risks, and priorities.
-Foster transparency, accountability, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
-Develop portfolio dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting tools.
-Drive data-based decision-making across the organization.
-Lead lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen project delivery capabilities.
What are we looking for?
-B.Sc. degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
-10+ years of experience in PMO, Program Management, Portfolio Management, or Project Leadership within an industrial R&D environment.
-Proven experience managing complex, multi-project portfolios involving multiple stakeholders and technologies.
-Demonstrated experience implementing project governance frameworks, stage-gate processes, and project management methodologies.
-Strong understanding of industrial R&D, product development, and technology development processes.
-Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
-Strong analytical, planning, and decision-support capabilities.
-Fluent English.
Preferred Qualifications
-M.Sc., MBA, or equivalent advanced degree.
-Experience in Chemicals, Advanced Materials, Specialty Products, Life Sciences, Industrial Technology, or Advanced Manufacturing industries.
-Experience with portfolio management, resource planning, and PMO tools.
