Key Responsibilities:
The Head of Public Acquisition will be responsible for leading and managing the Public Acquisition Unit in generating funding and partnerships with Indonesian Mass Donors (Individual -including through Digital, Church, School, University, other communities) to support Wahana Visi Indonesia’s programs.
S/he is responsible for achieving financial and non-financial targets as directed by the strategy thru effective and efficient implementation plan.
S/he is responsible to ensure appropriate strategic plan including the development of annual business plan and target for the team and each team members as well as the growth of each team member. S/he is responsible to ensure that the Indonesian mass donor’s interests and WVIDN program needs are facilitated well to ensure children wellbeing.
Key responsibilities for this position are:
Business Development – To acquire and build, over a period of 2-3 years, a mature portfolio of Mass Donors (Individual -including Digital, Church, School, University, other communities) who support WV.
Using his/her existing connections, alongside existing key connections held by WV IDN, to grow WVIDN’s presence and reputation in front of Individual, Church, School, University, other communities.
Working with WVIDN Board members, Advisory Group, and ExLT to build a corpus of highly engaged Individual – including Digital, Church, School, University, other communities
All staff are expected to contribute to Wahana Visi Indonesia’s Transformational Development, Advocacy, and Emergency Response approaches, and may be required to support emergency response efforts in a timely, coordinated, and accountable manner.
Strategy Development & Planning
Collaboratively develop and/or update Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVIDN)’s Public Acquisition strategic plan in alignment to the overall WVIDN Ministry Funding Strategy, including annual business plan, that based on updated market landscape and analysis, program priorities, and learning available within WVIDN and global WV system.
Develop and apply WVIDN public donors relationship management plan that facilitate the donor’s interest as well as WVIDN program needs in collaboration with national, regional, and global WVI relevant staff. Specifically lead and coordinate strategic planning to increase acquisition of public/mass donors.
Resource Acquisition & Management
Lead and coordinate the development concepts and communication collaterals to grow funding from public or mass donors as directed by the strategy. Secure annual funding target for the team and ensure team members target achievement.
Lead sustainable WVIDN’s partnerships with public donor’s segments, exploring new segments to strengthen WVIDN’s resource pool focusing on development and implementation of collaborative and impactful partnerships.
Coordinate and collaborate with program teams and sector specialists to ensure proper development of proposals that meet the public donors’ interests based on their specific segments
Coordinate and collaborate with other units to identify potential new donors and interests and develop appropriate plan for acquisition in alignment to the overall unit’s strategic plan and target (including digital activation).
Ensure the accuracy and punctuality of funding status for each project within programs to identify possible funding gaps and ensure smooth transition from one donor source to the next.
Capacity Building/ Technical works
Develops, implements and evaluates Public Acquisition capacity building strategy and plan in close coordination with Program, IT (FCS), People & Culture and Regional Office.
In collaboration with other Dept staff and ZPMs, build program and project manager’s capacity to design and report according to donor’s standards and requirement.
Accountability & Quality Assurance
Monitor and evaluate the team’s strategic plan and annual business plan and identify best practices and challenges for review and or modification
Monitor and evaluate risks applicable to the donor’s management and relationships with the donors and design and apply appropriate mitigation plan in coordination with RDC Director
Ensures maximum adherence and compliance to accountability standards and the agreement/contracts
Regularly updates the ExLT on WVIDN engagement with public institutions/ individuals including new possibilities and terms of engagements.
Ensure regular communication with public acquisition partners through provision of donor reports, share of information that demonstrate the impact and outcomes of WVIDN and partners’ investments to secure sustainable partnerships.
Ensure the quality of donors’ handover ceremony, relevant reporting/ feedback including field trips (both face to face / virtual).
Ensure WVIDN accountability, transparency and effective communication as evidenced by positive response in donor feedback.
Networking & Coordination
Ensure strong and proper relationship management with priority donor’s segments. This may include development of donor’s engagement plan, organizing face to face interactions or events, travel with donors, attend business and networking sessions / events, and others.
Identify and set up partnership working with consulting group and external partners, and Global Center.
Responsible to oversee the Due Diligence and Form Go/ No Go process of the Public Acquisition.
Foster open relationships for the transfer of knowledge between APs, Zonal, donors and partners
Management & Leadership
In consultation with RDC Director and coordinate with other sub-unit heads, review and update systems, structure, and staffing needs for the team as needed, in alignment to the landscape and strategy changes and continues strengthening acquisition rates and accountability to donors
Develop and manage annual business plan and budget for Public Acquisition Unit.
Submits periodical/ monthly accomplishment report
Build and maintain positive spirit of working in team with other staff in respective unit and department
Provide line management and mentoring for all team members, including Performance Management, Coaching for Performance and capacity building
Be a role model and inspiration in managing work, communication and relationship with internal staff and external parties.
Ensure that all implementations are carried out and risks related to Public Acquisition are effectively managed in accordance with organizational policies, guidelines, and standards. This includes risks related to fraud, safeguarding, and other associated risks.
Provide Christian leadership and support to enrich the organisation’s life, faith, Christian commitments and ministry to the disadvantaged children and communities we seek to serve.
Ensure all team members comply to all Organization Policies include Code of Conduct, Safeguarding, Conflict of Interest.
Requirement
Bachelor degree in Economics, Marketing, Communications, Social Science, Engineering, Public Administration or other relevant subjects
At least 3 (three) years professional experience in leadership position, involve in Resource Development and External Engagement strategy or implementation processes and exposure to Corporate Communi cations.
Track record of success in marketing, networking, partnering and donor relations.
A mature and committed Christian who can lead Spiritual Nurture activities of Public Acquisition Unit.
Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and English, both written and spoken. TOEFL 500.
Travel Domestic may be required.
Ability to attend social weekends and evening’s events as needed, Ability to work in a standard office environment, including prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
Comfortable with and excited by managing in an entrepreneurial environment with complex work streams
Ability to attend and actively participate in external meetings, networking events, and donor engagement activities, which may occasionally take place outside regular working hours.
