Job Description

We’re reshaping our Food business to broaden its appeal, protecting the magic our customers love while modernising everything else. That means outstanding quality, high sourcing standards, and market-leading innovation remain at our core, while we transform our supply chains, improve our stores, and deliver better value. We’re looking for motivated people ready to bring their whole self to work and thrive in a fast-paced, ambitious team. After all, this isn’t just food… this is M&S Food.

As Head of Programme Delivery, you will lead some of the most important change programmes across M&S Food, helping shape how the business operates in the future. With SAP decoupling, Finance Transformation and Master Data Management underway, you will connect priorities across Food, Digital & Technology and the wider business, ensuring programmes stay connected and focused on the outcomes Food needs.

The role would suit someone who has led large scale transformation within a major organisation or advised clients through technology and business change programmes. It calls for someone who can think strategically, influence confidently and stay close enough to the detail to keep change moving.

Due to high interest, this role may close earlier than advertised. We recommend applying as soon as possible.

What you’ll do

  • Lead major technology transformation programmes, connecting business, technology and data priorities to deliver the outcomes M&S Food needs.
  • Set the direction for transformation activity across Food, connecting programmes, managing dependencies and focusing resources on the highest priorities.
  • Equip senior leaders with the information they need to make decisions, manage risk and keep delivery moving.
  • Bring together commercial, supply chain, logistics, finance, data and technology functions to shape solutions and deliver change at scale.
  • Connect transformation programmes across Food, ensuring decisions, priorities and dependencies support the wider business agenda.

Who you are

  • Experience delivering large scale technology enabled change and leading through transformation.
  • Strong understanding of end to end retail, supply chain, commercial and data processes, and how technology can support change across them.
  • Experienced in operating model transformation, business change and adoption, with an understanding of ERP, SAP and enterprise transformation programmes.
  • A clear and credible communicator who can influence, challenge constructively and build confidence at all levels.
  • Strategic and practical in approach, with the resilience, initiative and willingness to roll up your sleeves to keep change moving.

What’s in it for you?

Working at M&S means being part of something bigger - helping to deliver quality, value and service to millions of customers every day. We’re inclusive, fast-moving and always evolving, with a strong sense of purpose and a focus on doing the right thing.

Here are just a few of the benefits that make working here even more rewarding:

  • 20% colleague discount on all M&S products and many third-party brands for you and someone in your household, available once you’ve completed your probation
  • Competitive holiday allowance with the option to buy more
  • Discretionary bonus schemes linked to your performance and ours
  • Strong pension and life assurance to help plan for the future
  • Tailored induction and training to support your development from day one
  • Exclusive perks and savings through our M&S Choices portal
  • Market-leading family policies, including parental, adoption and neonatal leave
  • 24/7 wellbeing support, including virtual GP access and mental health services
  • One paid volunteer day a year to support a cause that matters to you
