Ready to evolve HPS from chat to agentic productivity at global scale?
HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.
This Director level role oversees the engineering organisation for HSBC Productivity Suite (HPS) - a portfolio of AI-enabled productivity solutions used by colleagues across the bank. You’ll own delivery, operational performance and the technical evolution of HPS including the transition from a primarily chat-based solution towards more agentic and autonomous capabilities. The role covers around 50 engineers across the UK, China, India and Poland with around 6-7 team leads reporting directly. Working in partnership with Product and the wider Technology organisation you’ll translate roadmap priorities into secure, scalable and well controlled production outcomes. Success means valuable personal-agent capabilities delivered for colleagues alongside stronger engineering pace, quality and operational performance in a regulated environment.
HPS is on a clear journey from chat-based assistance to personal-agent capabilities that help colleagues get more done with less friction. This role shapes the engineering direction and delivery that makes that transition real and safe at scale. You’ll work closely with Product to turn priorities into robust production outcomes while strengthening engineering pace, quality and operational performance. If you want to build agentic AI capabilities that are secure, well controlled and genuinely useful for colleagues we’d welcome your application.
