The Position

he Scientific Comms & Engagement pillar within our global Patient Safety & Medical Affairs (PSMA) organization builds the high-scale digital engines that protect patients and accelerate science. This organization delivers the global platforms essential to modern, data-driven medical affairs, including enterprise scientific communication workflows, global medical information management and AI-enabled content architecture across dozens of global affiliates.

We are seeking an elite, tech-first Head of Product (Senior Product Leader) This is a high-visibility, executive-level people-leadership position. It is not an administrative business relationship management function. We are looking for a visionary technology executive and organizational leader who can command a room of senior medical executives, manage large scale cross-functional engineering teams, dismantle legacy application silos and architect a modern, scalable product ecosystem.

You will own the end-to-end technology lifecycle and the people ecosystem for this vital portfolio. Your core challenge is driving organizational transformation: converting complex, global business requirements into robust technical specifications, while building the engineering talent, governing the global vendors and managing the cultural change required to execute a modern content and data strategy.

Key Responsibilities & Strategic Objectives

  • Enterprise Leadership & Business Partnering: Act as an equal, authoritative technology partner to senior Medical Affairs business executives. Provide the digital thought leadership necessary to push operational boundaries, automate complex workflows and aggressively consolidate fragmented legacy systems.

  • In-House Engineering Talent Transformation: Inherit, mentor and actively scale a high-performing global team of product leaders, software engineers and domain experts. Execute a strategy designed to upskill internal talent and strategically insource core software development and configuration capabilities

  • Global Vendor & Managed Service Governance: Maintain strict operational and financial accountability for multi-million-dollar budgets. Oversee, evaluate and hold accountable global managed service providers and software vendors, ensuring absolute alignment with our internal software engineering principles.

  • Tech Strategy & Landscape Consolidation: Shape the mid-to-long-term technical roadmap for the portfolio. Lead your teams to actively migrate the legacy landscape away from fragmented, aging infrastructure onto a single, modern and highly integrated product ecosystem.

  • Architecting the Content "Golden Source": Drive the technical strategy and global implementation for our enterprise content blueprint, anchoring our data architecture in modern cloud frameworks to eliminate operational duplication and ensure seamless asset lifecycle management.

  • Advanced AI & Cross-Platform Convergence: Lead the technical evaluation, production scaling and cross-functional alignment for next-generation automation initiatives. This includes directing teams to deploy AI-enabled narratives and intelligent content generation tools globally, while merging early-stage insight platforms onto a unified, high-performing text and data stack.

  • Compliance & Proactive Digital Oversight: Oversee the expansion of specialized compliance tracking and digital oversight platforms that leverage automation to process open-text fields across digital portals and web applications, automatically capturing safety risks and tracking compliance metrics.

Who You Are

  • An Accomplished People Leader: You possess extensive experience leading, mentoring and scaling large, diverse technical or product organizations. You have a proven track record of managing complex talent dynamics, developing leadership pipelines and fostering a culture of technical excellence and psychological safety.

  • A Tech-First Executive with Industry Context: You are a proven engineer, technical product executive or enterprise solutions architect who has deep experience delivering scale within the Pharma R&D Medical Affairs domain. You do not just take business requirements, you challenge them and proactively advise on process automation and technology enhancements.

  • An Agent of Major Change: You are an expert in organizational change management. You have a verifiable track record of driving early-stage buy-in from Legal, Regulatory, and senior Business stakeholders, ensuring that massive, complex technology migrations "stick" across global networks.

  • Radical Candor & High Emotional Intelligence (EQ): You are comfortable setting a distinct "line in the sand" regarding technical and operational standards. You handle stakeholder conflicts with transparency, absolute alignment and diplomatic firmness across complex business matrices.

  • Systems & Data Engineering Fluency: While you operate at the executive level, you understand modern tech stacks. You bring deep architecture familiarity with CRM-based ecosystems, enterprise search frameworks, cloud data warehouses and cloud-native content stacks.
