Job Description
Head of Product
Department: Product
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: United States - Remote
Reporting To: Nikolaj Hendriksen
Compensation: $155,000 - $175,000 / year
Hi Rasmus is entering an important next chapter. We are scaling our product, expanding into new markets, and rethinking how Product, Design, and Engineering work together in an AI-first world.
We are moving quickly toward AI-first engineering and QA. That changes the shape of the job. When building and testing get dramatically cheaper, engineering capacity stops being the constraint and clarity becomes the constraint: which problem, modeled how, worth what. Cheap build makes a correct domain model more valuable, not less, because a wrong abstraction now propagates at speed. And it makes commercial judgment the scarce input, because when you can build almost anything, choosing well is the job.
This is why we are hiring a Head of Product rather than more PMs.
Our approach is Human-Centered AI. We want to use AI to expand access, reduce friction, improve quality, and help clinicians and providers spend more time on the work that matters most. But we also believe the human role becomes even more important: strong judgment, empathy, domain expertise, customer understanding, and responsibility for what we choose to build.
We are looking for a Head of Product who can help us build that reality.
This role is ideal for a product craft leader and coach who is also commercially sharp. Two things make the coaching mandate unusually real here. First, we increasingly hire PMs out of the industry itself: clinicians and provider-side operators who arrive with deep domain knowledge and need to be built into strong product people. Second, we practice Domain-Driven Design, and we are pulling lead engineers closer to the domain rather than handing them specs. You will be coaching in both directions: teaching product craft to people who know the domain cold, and building shared domain fluency across product and engineering.
Coaching here is not a soft complement to the real work. It is how the operating model gets built.
This is not a traditional top-down product executive role. It is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves developing product talent, shaping strong team habits, and creating the connective tissue between strategy, discovery, design, engineering, delivery, and measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Lead and develop the Product organization. Coach and support Product Managers and Product Designers, helping the team grow its discovery, prioritization, design, product judgment, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
✅ Own the commercial case for the roadmap. Understand our unit economics, segment dynamics, pricing, packaging, and expansion motion well enough to argue about them. Every significant bet should have a defensible answer to "what does this do for the business," and you own that answer alongside the CCO and CTO.
✅ Strengthen product discovery. We work from Marty Cagan's model: empowered teams, product trios, problems to solve rather than features to build, continuous discovery. Build lightweight, repeatable practices for customer discovery, problem framing, hypothesis development, opportunity sizing, and validation.
✅ Lead teams toward data-driven outcomes. Help Product, Design, and Engineering move beyond traditional feature delivery by defining the outcomes we are trying to change, the signals that tell us if we are making progress, and the tradeoffs required to get there.
✅ Lead Product Design as part of Product. Ensure Product Design is integrated into the way our product teams work, helping create cohesive user experiences, strong design patterns, and simple, human-centered tools across the platform.
✅ Carry forward our Human-Centered AI philosophy. Help Product, Design, and Engineering use AI to move faster and think better, while keeping human judgment, clinical responsibility, customer empathy, and product quality at the center of every decision.
✅ Partner deeply with Engineering. Work closely with the CTO and engineering leads to ensure Product and Engineering operate as one team around domain understanding, use cases, architecture, quality, and outcomes.
✅ Help teams model the world clearly. Guide PMs, designers, and engineers in translating complex clinical, operational, and customer workflows into clear product models and product decisions.
✅ Translate strategy into focused execution. Partner with the CEO and leadership team to turn company priorities into clear product bets, team missions, and measurable outcomes.
✅ Create clarity without bureaucracy. Build product rhythms, decision frameworks, roadmap practices, and review cadences that help teams align without slowing them down.
✅ Create roadmap clarity across the organization. Help the company understand where the product is going, why certain bets matter, what is changing now, and what direction we are moving toward beyond the current OKR cycle.
✅ Partner with Design on user experience. Ensure discovery, usability, accessibility, and simplicity are embedded early in product thinking, not added at the end.
✅ Partner closely with Marketing. Help Marketing understand product direction, customer value, launch timing, positioning, and the outcomes our products create so they can tell a clear and compelling story to the market.
✅ Raise the quality of product communication. Help teams communicate clearly about problems, tradeoffs, decisions, launches, and impact.
✅ Build the product organization thoughtfully. Help us define the right PM profiles, hiring bar, team structure, and development path as the company scales.
