Job Description

A Powerful Partnership

St1 Biokraft is a joint venture between St1 and HitecVision, combining expertise and resources to drive innovation in the biomethane sector. Our goal is to become the leading integrated biomethane provider in the Nordics, playing a vital role in the energy transition. We cover the entire value chain – from feedstock sourcing to distribution and end-user sales – with a strong emphasis on heavy transport, maritime, and industrial sectors.

To support this ambitious growth, we are investing over EUR 1 billion in biomethane production and distribution infrastructure across the Nordics, with several large-scale projects already in progress.

Head of Procurement, St1 Biokraft, Stockholm, Malmö or Helsinki

Build the procurement function that will enable large-scale biomethane production.

Shape how we source, contract, and deliver our industrial build-out

We are entering a phase in which execution at scale is critical. Multiple production facilities, complex supply chains, and capital-intensive projects demand a procurement function that is not only efficient but also commercially sharp, risk-aware, and fully integrated with both project delivery and operations.

We are now seeking a Head of Procurement to lead and develop this function. This pivotal role has a broad mandate: to define sourcing strategies, structure major contracts, lead high-value negotiations, and build the frameworks that will support both our project portfolio and our operational assets.

You will operate at the intersection of projects, operations, and commercial strategy, ensuring procurement becomes a true value driver across the organisation.

The role is part of our Upstream Growth Nordics organisation and reports to the Head of the Program Office. The location is flexible: Stockholm, Malmö, or Helsinki.

About the Role

As Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for build and leading a procurement function that supports both large-scale project execution and ongoing production operations. You will combine strategic oversight with hands-on involvement in critical sourcing and contracting. This is not a purely strategic role – you are expected to be directly involved in key negotiations and sourcing decisions.

A key part of the role is to define our approach to major capital projects – spanning packaging and sourcing strategies, contract structures, and risk allocation. You will also play a central role.

Success in this role requires strong commercial judgement, a deep understanding of complex contracting models, and the ability to operate effectively within a fast-growing, evolving organisation.

You will

  • Define and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals, covering capital projects and operational needs

  • Lead sourcing and contracting for major projects, including EPC(M), equipment procurement, and balance-of-plant packages

  • Structure and negotiate complex agreements, ensuring optimal value, appropriate risk allocation, and bankable contract frameworks

  • Establish and develop strategic supplier relationships and partnership models across key categories

  • Ensure robust contract management practices and alignment with relevant frameworks (e.g. ABA99, FIDIC, AB/ABT, ORGALIM)

  • Integrate procurement into project planning, execution, and risk management processes

  • Support operations with efficient, reliable sourcing solutions for production and asset lifecycle needs

  • Own procurement governance, processes, tools, and ERP master data related to procurement

  • Manage procurement risks, including supplier performance, delivery reliability, and market volatility

  • Lead and build the procurement team and external consultants, fostering a high-performance, commercially driven culture

  • Ensure procurement supports both project execution and stable, cost-efficient production operations

  • Drive sourcing strategies across both CAPEX investments and operational spend (e.g. MRO, services, equipment)

What You Bring

We are looking for a senior procurement professional with strong commercial capabilities and experience from capital-intensive and project-driven environments.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Master’s degree (MSc) or equivalent in engineering, economics, or a related field

  • Extensive experience in procurement, sourcing, contract management and negotiation across the energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors, experience from energy, infrastructure, or industrial/manufacturing environments with significant capital investments

  • Proven track record of leading procurement for large-scale capital projects

  • Experience with EPC/EPCM contracting, including negotiation and contract structuring

  • Solid understanding of contract frameworks such as ABA99, FIDIC, AB/ABT, ORGALIM, or similar

Capabilities and knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of sourcing strategies, contract packaging, and risk-allocation models

  • Ability to operate strategically and hands-on in critical procurement activities

  • Experience working cross-functionally with projects, operations, legal, and finance

  • Structured, analytical, and data-driven approach to decision-making

  • Proven ability to build and develop procurement functions in growing or evolving organisations’

  • Experience in balancing capital project procurement with ongoing operational sourcing is highly valued.

Our Cornerstones

At St1 Biokraft, we are one team with one dream, working towards one result:

  • Be Collaborative – we support each other, share knowledge and succeed together across sites, functions and countries

  • Be Open – we are curious, transparent and eager to learn, embracing change and honest, constructive dialogue.

  • Be Commercial – we think and act like entrepreneurs, making fast, fact-based decisions that balance risk and reward and drive sustainable growth.

  • Be the Expert – we take ownership, stay close to our operations, and continuously build our capabilities to deliver high-quality in everything we do.

What We Offer

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a critical function in a rapidly growing and investment-heavy environment. You will play a key role in shaping how we execute our industrial expansion — directly impacting project economics, operational performance, and long-term value creation.

You will join a mission-driven company with strong ownership backing, where procurement is not a support function, but a strategic enabler of growth.
