Head of Primary
to lead its elementary division and further strengthen academic standards, student wellbeing, and community engagement.

This is a key senior leadership position within a growing international school environment, offering the opportunity to shape teaching and learning across the Primary years.

Academic Leadership

• 
  Lead the implementation and ongoing development of the Canadian primary curriculum

• 
  Ensure high standards of teaching, assessment, and reporting

• 
  Drive curriculum consistency and progression across year levels

• 
  Promote inquiry-based, student-centred learning

• 
  Monitor academic performance and implement improvement strategies

Staff Leadership & Development

• 
  Line manage primary teachers and support staff

• 
  Conduct lesson observations, performance reviews, and professional development planning

• 
  Support teacher recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring

• 
  Foster collaboration and a positive team culture

Student Wellbeing & Pastoral Care

• 
  Oversee student wellbeing systems and behaviour policies

• 
  Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

• 
  Work closely with parents to build strong home-school partnerships

• 
  Support smooth transitions between Early Years and Middle Years

Strategic & Operational Leadership

• 
  Contribute to whole-school strategic planning

• 
  Support enrolment growth and programme development

• 
  Ensure compliance with international standards and local regulatory requirements

• 
  Collaborate closely with the wider leadership team

Requirements

Essential Requirements

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field

• 
  Recognised teaching qualification (BEd, PGCE, PGDE, QTS or equivalent)

• 
  Minimum 7 years’ teaching experience within Primary education

• 
  Proven leadership experience (Head of Primary, Assistant Head, Phase Leader or equivalent)

• 
  Experience delivering a Canadian, IB PYP, UK, or comparable international curriculum

• 
  Strong understanding of primary pedagogy and child development

• 
  Fluent English speaker

Desirable

• 
  Experience in an international school setting

• 
  Experience leading curriculum innovation

• 
  Experience supporting school growth or accreditation processes
