Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a Head of Post-production to oversee all aspects of post-production, including Editing, Blockbuster, Replay and VFX Animation. This role ensures efficient workflows, resource management, budget allocation, and strategic innovation to maintain high-quality content production.

The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who excels in managing post-production teams, implementing systems for efficiency, and aligning post-production strategies with creative objectives

Key Responsibilities

Department Liaison & Strategy

  • Oversee day to day scheduling of the Editing team

  • Assign Editors to projects based on workload, availability and skill fit

  • Flag special case (out of the ordinary) projects to the Head of Editing for input on best editor asignment

  • Attend cross-departmental meetings to understand post-production needs and effectively communicate them to editors, and animation teams.

  • Work closely with Creative and Production teams to align post-production strategies with the overall creative vision.

  • Advocate for post-production requirements and work collaboratively with other departments to find solutions.

  • Oversee the hiring, training, and management of editors and animation teams.

Communication & Coordination

  • Act as the point of contact between the Brand Partnership Team and the Editing Team.
  • Facilitate cross-team communication with Creative, Scripts, Thumbnail, and Animation teams to ensure editors are aware of changes or requirements that may impact post-production.

Uploads & Publishing

  • Manage video uploads for all channels
  • Coordinate scheduling, metadata, and final checks for uploads
  • Provide weekend coverage/flexibility for urgent or time sensitive uploads

Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Research and implement new editing techniques, tools, and workflows to enhance quality and efficiency.

  • Constantly innovate post-production processes, exploring new software and technologies.

  • Ensure editors and animators are working in optimal ways tailored to each project’s needs.


Budget & Performance Management

  • Manage post-production budgets, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.

  • Lead the training and professional development of post-production team members with a focus on time management skills and workflow efficiency.

  • Develop a culture of accountability, creativity, and continuous improvement within the post-production team.

  • Identify skills gaps and coach team members to enhance performance, productivity and alignment with company values.

  • Work closely with department Heads to embed consistent post-production standards, behaviours, and time conscious practices across all projects.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading post-production teams in a high-output media environment.

  • Strong people management skills, with an understanding of how to motivate and support editors and animators.

  • Experience building and implementing new systems, workflows, and operational - changes.

  • Extensive knowledge of editing and animation workflows, software, and best practices.

  • Experience in traditional media, television, or film post-production is highly preferred.

  • Ability to drive innovation in post-production, integrating new technologies and methodologies.

  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills to bridge the gap between creative, production, and post-production teams.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to process improvements.
