We are looking for a Head of Performance & Testing Teams to lead the Performance, Measurement Validator, and Test Development teams within 93K SW R&D.

The teams improve SmarTest performance and scalability, establish performance monitoring and telemetry, measure V93000 accuracy, and support development teams with system- and application-level testing.

This role requires an experienced leader with strong knowledge of software engineering, testing, performance, V93000 applications, and semiconductor test. You will work closely with Product Owners, engineering leaders, and development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

This is a senior, hands-on role based in Böblingen, with partial remote work possible.

What you will do

  • Lead and develop the members of the three teams.
  • Work with the Product Owners to turn priorities into clear team execution.
  • Drive performance, scalability, monitoring, telemetry, and root-cause analysis.
  • Improve system- and application-level testing, test analysis, and automation.
  • Ensure that testing and performance work reflects real V93000 applications.
  • Improve the collection and use of performance, measurement, and test data.
  • Develop the teams’ software engineering skills and drive effective use of AI.
  • Represent the teams and communicate progress, risks, and dependencies.

Qualifications

  • Several years of leadership experience in software development or testing.
  • Strong software engineering and testing knowledge.
  • Experience with performance, scalability, monitoring, telemetry, and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience with exploratory testing, test automation, and design for testability.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor test.
  • Pragmatic and results-oriented, with the ability to drive topics to completion.
  • Good AI knowledge and experience applying AI in software engineering or testing.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Very good English skills and willingness to travel internationally approximately twice per year.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large, distributed software projects involving close hardware and software interaction.
  • Good knowledge of V93000 hardware, SmarTest software, test programs, and applications.
  • Experience with customer test programs or customer-like environments.
  • Experience working in a scaled agile environment, such as SAFe.
  • In-depth knowledge of Advantest products and solutions.
  • German, Japanese, or Chinese language skills.
