Job Description

About us:

aXcelerate is a leading Australian SaaS company transforming the way organisations develop skills, manage learning, and build workforce capability. Our integrated platform combines a powerful Student Management System (SMS), Learning Management System (LMS), and Skills, our workforce competency management solution, to help training providers, enterprises, and government organisations simplify compliance, streamline operations, and develop confident, capable workforces.

Trusted by over 1,300 organisations and powering more than 3.6 million learners, we're redefining how learning and workforce capability are managed across Australia as we expand our impact internationally.

Recognised as a Great Place to Work for four consecutive years, we're proud to foster a culture where our people are empowered to innovate, collaborate and grow. We believe our success comes from creating an environment where ideas are valued, curiosity is encouraged, and every individual has the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

As we continue our exciting growth journey, there's never been a better time to join a team that's shaping the future of education technology. Whether your passion lies in technology, customer success, sales, marketing, product, or corporate services, you'll find opportunities to grow your career, work alongside talented people, and help create solutions that make a real difference.

The Role:

Lead a strong team. Shape a great culture. Grow our people.

Our P&C team is established, capable and set up for success. What we need now is an operational HR leader who'll run people operations exceptionally well, coach the team to do their best work, and help lift accountability and performance across the business, without losing the warmth that makes aXcelerate a great place to work.

What you'll be doing:

Reporting to the CEO, you'll lead the operational and strategic delivery of our P&C function. It's a genuine blend of leadership and hands-on delivery: you'll direct and develop the team while personally driving HR operations, policy and advisory work.

  • Own the P&C strategy and OKRs, advise the CEO on organisational design and workforce risk, and bring insight-led people metrics to leadership and board reporting
  • Evolve our performance management approach so it drives ownership and high performance, balanced with genuine care for our people
  • Lead quarterly talent management, from identifying capability needs through to career pathways and succession.
  • Design leadership programs that identify and grow our emerging leaders, and build capability across the business for the age of AI
  • Lead our Talent Acquisition function, partner with senior leaders on workforce planning, and help shape an employer brand that authentically reflects who we are
  • Champion AI adoption within P&C and across the business, safely and compliantly
  • Keep our policies, processes and compliance in great shape, including remuneration reviews, salary banding and statutory reporting
  • Lead our People and Culture team, further developing our capability and influence across the business
  • Energising our team culture, employee experience, and staff engagement.

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years as an HR or P&C Manager or Lead, combining team leadership with hands-on operational delivery
  • A proven track record of building an accountable, high-performance culture while keeping things positive and people-first
  • Experience designing or delivering leadership and emerging leader development programs
  • Strong knowledge of the employee lifecycle, modern awards and Australian employment legislation, including HR compliance reporting
  • Confidence with HRIS, ATS and learning platforms (Employment Hero is a bonus) and a willingness to use AI tools to work smarter in a lean team
  • Excellent communication skills, comfort with data, and the ability to influence and coach people at every level
  • A tertiary qualification in HR or a related field, or equivalent experience

It's a bonus if you've worked in software or tech, led employer branding initiatives, or have exposure to international workforce considerations (particularly the US).

What we offer

  • A central location, close to public transport, cafes and shops, with free on-site parking available.
  • A vibrant, supportive and team-oriented culture, with regular team activities and social events.
  • Opportunities for flexible and hybrid working.
  • A focus on professional development and learning, with access to our LMS, external and internal training opportunities and your own personal annual PD budget
  • Access for you and your family to an Employee Assistance Program and resources.
  • Cashback offers and discounts on popular brands through our Employment Hero app.
  • Opportunities for career development with well defined career pathways across the business.
  • Proud members of Women in Technology with access to networking events, professional development opportunities and resources.

How to apply

Please submit an up-to-date resume outlining your suitability for the role.
